Various hackers might be working on porting a functional Siri to iPhone 4, other creative once are making it do wonders. A proxy server, a car, some hacking and this developer can unlock the car and even start its engine using Siri.
The developer of this hack has released a video showing how he starts and stops his car using voice commands. Check the video below. Here’s how the developers claim he built this hack.
The “Siri Proxy” plugin I wrote handles interaction with a php script that runs on my web server. The php script, which I developed months ago for personal use, allows me to send commands to my car which has a Viper SmartStart module installed … Current commands accepted are: “Vehicle Arm”, “Vehicle Disarm”, “Vehicle Start”, “Vehicle Stop”, “Vehicle Pop Trunk”, and “Vehicle Panic”.
Self driven cars may be a distant future but could development of this hack further lead to voice driven cars? Since its release, Siri has drawn many developers to take it beyond just voice search. Is it time that Apple should release Siri up to developers? Tell us in the comments.
