HTC loses patent battle against Apple, would remove ‘Tap to email’ feature

Apple always goes around with a chip on its shoulder when it comes to patent infringement by Android devices, no matter how small. One such incident was ‘Tap to email’ feature which HTC added in its UI allowing users to tap on a contact to send email, similar to what Apple had patented for iOS.

The US International Trade Commission has declared HTC guilty in the above case. HTC has agreed to completely remove the feature from its phones by release an update in the coming days. As of now, it is unclear how many devices would be impacted by this ruling.
