16GB Nexus 7 sold out worldwide, Google stops taking orders

Reports of 16GB Nexus 7 tablet being sold out came in from UK last week. Now, it seems Google (or more rightly, Asus) is globaly unable to keepup with the 16GB version orders. Google Play Store now shows the tablet as ‘out of stock’ and interested buyers can register for a notification email of when it would be available again.

The 8GB version on the other hand is in stock and ships in 3-5 business days. While many tech geeks consider the ‘sold-out’ tag as a sign of being a successful launch, some believe it is a new ‘marketing gimmick’. Whatever it is, Google sure has managed to put up a great offering at an unmatched price tag.
