Ever since the release of iPhone 4S, developers and hackers have been working on bringing Siri to older iOS devices. Some of the developers did manage to port Siri to iPhone 4, but it wasn’t release to consumers, until now. A Siri hack dubbed Siri0us has been released for jailbroken iOS devices and works not only with iPhone 4 but also with iPod Touch and iPhone 3GS.
Unlike earlier hacks, Siri0us does not require any UDID’s, files or keys of iPhone 4S. All you need is an jailbroken iOS 5 device with Cydia installed. Just add ‘http://apt.if0rce.com’ as a source on Cydia then search and download Siri0us, and start talking to the smartest voice based personal assistant ever.
At the launch of iPhone 4S, Apple announced that Siri would be exclusive to this device. But given the fact that Siri was earlier listed on the App Store and worked with earlier iOS devices, many believed that its exclusivity to iPhone 4S is only a marketing gimmick. We don’t know, but Siri hackers have definitely didn’t buy Apple’s announcement.

Phil Schiller did promise that this would be the fastest iPhone rollout and iPhone 4S would be launched in 70 countries by year end. Breaking the series of delayed iPhone launches in India, Aircel has officially confirmed the arrival of Apple’s latest iPhone 4S on Nov. 25th, just 42 days after its launch in the US. Airtel is also expected to launch the iPhone 4S on the same date.
Major retail outlets would remain open overnight for the launch and the sale would commence as the gong sounds 12. Preorders would kick start on November 18th. Both Airtel and Aircel have not revealed the pricing yet, but the iPhone 4S is expected to retail at Rs. 40,000 for 16GB version. Prices of iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS would also be revised which currently retail at Rs. 34,500 and Rs. 19,990 respectively. Like previous iPhone launches, iPhone 4S buyers would also be offered discounted tariffs which allows them to recover the cost of phone over a period of 2 years.

Now that the rumored Oct 4 event has been confirmed by Apple when it sent invites to “Let’s talk iPhone” event, another date is making it rounds on the rumor lane. This time, its the day when iPhone 5 would hit the stores in US, and the rumored date is Oct 14th.
iPhone 5 is expected to launch in USA, UK, France, Germany and Japan in its first phase with the pre-orders beginning in a days time from the launch event. iPhone 5 is expected to go a design overhaul and feature an 8MP camera with dual-LED flash. It is also expected to be powered by a dual-core processor.
The iPhone 5 launch event would also be new CEO Tim Cook’s first big event. So, this time while Apple would try to raise the bar for smartphones with its iPhone 5, its new CEO would have to live upto the already raised bar by Jobs.

Take this with a grain of salt. iPhone 5 launch event is currently said to happen on October 5th , reports AllthingsD, according to an ‘unnamed source’. All rumors so far have pointed to a September end or October start launch. This is the first time that a date has made it to the rumor lane, Tuesday October 4th (Not Friday this time?). Read more
T-Mobile top brass has clearly denied that the carrier would land iPhone 5 anytime in 2011. “We are not going to get the iPhone 5 this year,” said Cole Brodman, T-Mobile Chief Marketing Officer, speaking at a meeting for T-Mobile employees. T-Mobile would be the only major US carrier that would not be offering iPhone 5 at its expected October launch, if this report comes true.
Now, Broadman’s statement here leaves scope for a number of other posiblities. For one, there could be no iPhone 5 launch in 2011 at all. Also, Broadman does not mention iPhone 4S or iPhone 4GS, which has also been doing the rounds in the rumor district for long. Another possibility is that T-Mobile might offer the iPhone 5 in the beginning of 2012.
The big event, when all speculations come to rest either by becoming facts or going six feet under,is not far now. Apple is expected to roll-out the invites in the coming weeks.

A 64GB variant has been into rumors before the launch of every iPhone, but it never happened. Sadly, its not happening for iPhone 5 too, a product listing on Vodafone’s website suggests.
Vodafone Sure Signal, a signal boaster for their network, got listed on their website along with list of compatible phones. The website lists four iPhone 5 models, including both Black and White color in 16GB and 32GB variants. It also includes all previous versions of iPhone. Now, this could very well be a presumption from Vodafone, but if they are right Apple’s next generation iPhone would not upgrade in storage capacity. The major specs upgrade rumored for iPhone 5 so far include an 8 megapixel camera and A5 processor (which is used in iPad 2)
The sunnier side is that white iPhone 5 would be available from the launch, which sadly got delayed 10 months during in case of iPhone 4.
Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 5 in the coming weeks while the phone is rumored to go on sale sometime in October.
