iOS 6.1.2 still has security loopholes [Video]

Apple recently released the iOS 6.1.2 which fixed various security issues highlighted since the release of iOS 6 which powers the iPhone, iPad and the iPod Touch. But a YouTube video shows that iOS is still vulnerable to security loophole  that allows unauthorized bypassing of the lock-code and provides access to contacts and a few other features of the device.

iPad Mini 2 to have 2048 x 1536 pixels and 324 ppi [Rumor]

Apple’s first gen iPad Mini’s 1024 x 768 7.9″ display might make it compatible with the iPad 2 and previous generation apps, but that display resolution definitely falls short when compared to similar sized tabs available in the market. If BrightWire news agency’s sources are to be believed, Apple has already decided to play catchup and is producing 2048 x 1536 resolution displays at AU Optronics, its Taiwan-based suppliers. Android fans might call it a catchup with the Android tablets or as Apple fanboys would say Apple is upgrading its display resolution by four times; either ways the high pixel density on the retina display is welcomed.

Next gen iPhone to sport an 8-pin dock connector?

Apple may surpass Intel as the top Mobile Processor maker by 2013

The Mobile Processor industry, currently lead by Intel, may see a new market leader as early as the end of 2012. Technology research firm In-Stat’s data suggests that Apple was close second to Intel in terms of mobile processor shipped in 2011, and may surpass it before 2013.

Redsn0w update now supports tethered jailbreak on iOS 5.1

Boy, that was quick! Within 24 hours of the release of iOS 5.1 the hacking community has already released a jailbreak for the OS. It is an not an untethered jailbreak though, which means you would have to connect your device to a computer while rebooting. The updated jailbreak by Redsn0w now stands at version 0.9.10b6. At the moment, the jailbreak does not support A5 chip devices which include iPhone 4S and iPad 2 and also A5X device which is the new iPad 3. Detailed instructions and download links available here.

Apple’s iTV to feature Siri, prototype tested by potential partners [Rumor]?

Apple is expected to launch an iOS powered TV by the year end. Codenamed iTV, very little of this device is known so far. If rumors are to be believed, iTV has already taken shape and potential carrier partners in Canada are testing its prototype.
