Nokia launches Asha 200 and Asha 300 phones in India

After announcing its mid and low-range ‘Asha’ series a few weeks back, Nokia has launched two phones under the umbrella in India. These phones – Asha 200 and Asha 300 will run on Symbian S40.

Asha 200 is a dual-sim QWERTY phone featuring a 2.4 inch, QVGA display (320*240). Its 10MB internal memory is tad too low but thanks to the microSD support, you can expand it upto 32GB. The phone integrates social networks like Facebook and Twitter along with email. The Easy Swap access allows you to swap SIM cards without the need to switching off the phone or removing the back cover. It has a 2MP camera. The connectivity options include Bluwtooth and EDGE. No front camera, WLAN or 3G here. Priced Rs. 4759.

Asha 300 is a Touch and Type phone with 2.4-inch resistive touchscreen of 240 x 320 pixel resolution. At its price point, 300 would probably be the cheapest 1GHz processor phone. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 2.1, micro USB, WLAN and 3G. The 5MP camera produces quality pictures which can be easily edited and shared on social networks from the phone. Priced Rs. 7409.

Both phones would go on sale in mid-December.
